The Real Talk
This is a small, genuinely boutique operation rather than a scaled-down version of a national firm, the Bristol Employment team is only a couple of years old, but it's growing fast and building a solid reputation. You'd be working alongside colleagues who've come from big-firm backgrounds, so you get that quality of training and technical rigour, without the bureaucracy, the billable-hour pressure-cooker, or being one of forty associates fighting for a partner's attention.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
- Running your own caseload of employment matters for a mix of employer and employee clients
- Getting genuine exposure to both contentious work (Tribunal claims, disputes) and non-contentious advisory work
- Working directly alongside experienced, big-firm-trained colleagues, with real access to their time and expertise
- Playing an active part in a growing team, where your input actually shapes how things are done, not just following an established playbook
What We Need From You
- Qualified solicitor with 1 - 4 years' PQE in employment law, although applications will be accepted from newly-qualified candidates
- Solid grounding in either contentious or non-contentious employment work, ideally some exposure to both
- Keen to build a genuine long-term career within a growing team, not just clock up experience and move on
- Comfortable working in a smaller, close-knit environment where you're visible and accountable, not anonymous
The Offer
- Salary: £65,000 – £90,000
- Flexibility: Hybrid working, and bags of flexibility
- The bit worth highlighting: Genuine, fast-tracked progression in a growing team, the kind of exposure and responsibility that would take years longer to reach at a bigger firm.
