The Real Talk
This is a firm that acts exclusively for policyholders, with a reputation as the UK's leading specialist in that space. Marine and aviation are sectors where claims are large, complex and often cross-border, and the firm wants a Partner who already has a footprint in them, rather than someone starting from a blank page. If you have clients who would follow you and contacts around the world who instruct on major losses, this is a chance to build a marine or aviation practice inside a firm whose whole identity is policyholder work.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
- Bringing your existing client following into the firm and growing it further
- Leading high-value marine or aviation insurance claims and disputes on behalf of policyholders
- Developing and using an international network of clients, brokers and other referrers to win new instructions
- Working alongside a specialist team and helping to shape the firm's marine and aviation offering
- Leading business development and building your own team as the practice grows
What We Need From You
- Qualified solicitor at Partner level, with a track record in marine or aviation insurance work
- A client following you can realistically bring with you
- Experience of high-value claims, ideally with a policyholder-side perspective
- A strong international network, as much of this work comes from outside the UK
- The business development skills and standing to build a practice
The Offer
- Salary: £180,000 – £250,000
- Flexibility: Hybrid working as a given.
- The bit worth highlighting: The chance to build your marine or aviation practice at the firm the market recognises as the UK's leader in policyholder work
