The Real Talk
This isn't a role sitting alongside an existing Employment team in Bristol, there isn't one yet, you'd be it. But this is a national firm with genuine scale and an established, well-resourced Employment practice elsewhere in the network, so you're not building in isolation. You get the autonomy of launching something properly your own locally, with the backing, infrastructure and referral network of a firm that already does this work at a high level nationally.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
- Launching and building the Employment practice in the Bristol office from scratch
- Bringing your own client following and professional connections to seed the local practice
- Leading business development to grow the Bristol Employment offering beyond your own following
- Working closely with the wider national Employment team, drawing on their resource, knowledge and referrals
- Building relationships across the Bristol office and local market to establish the practice's reputation
What We Need From You
- Qualified solicitor and current or recent Partner, with a genuine client following and strong professional connections in the Bristol/South West market
- Significant business development experience and a track record of winning and growing work
- Comfortable working with real autonomy, this is a genuine build, not an inherited team
- Able to work effectively as part of a larger national team while being the sole Employment presence locally
The Offer
- Salary: £150,000 – £300,000
- Flexibility: On offer with hybrid working
- The bit worth highlighting: The autonomy of building your own practice in a new office, backed by the resource, reputation and referral network of an established national Employment team
